There is no way to sugar-coat it. The pandemic, global economy, and war in Ukraine have the travel industry on the ropes and hanging in like a loose tooth. Governments have stepped up support but there is a long road to recovery.

Humans are innovative and will find a way to solve problems. Artificial intelligence is one such solution. Tech giants have figured out how to build specialized computers adapted from the gaming industry. Specialized graphics processors were developed to absorb internet documents, posts, videos, and social media. From there, AI algorithms transform the data into intelligent information.

High tech like Generative AI can provide some relief to a troubled industry. Although AI is not a panacea, the hope is that we use its efficiencies to help the travel industry.

How Generative AI can bring efficiencies to the Travel Industry

I did my auto registration this year using the state’s chatbot. The experience was clear, pleasant, and straightforward. Obviously booking travel arrangements is more complex but it would be great if the experience was as pleasant.

This helps to defray the cost of advertising and increase sales based on what people want.  AI is being used to collect and analyze user data, to right-price travel, and to personalize trip solutions. Better travel experiences are good for business.[2]

Implementing generative AI in the travel industry is in its infancy but maturing rapidly.[3]
